Depression
Depression is a common and serious mental health condition that affects how a person feels, thinks, and behaves. It goes beyond occasional sadness or feeling "down"—it is persistent and can interfere with daily functioning, relationships, and physical health.
Statements commonly heard by therapists:
- “I don’t feel happy or excited about anything, even my favourite stuff!”
- “I’m so tired every day, even when I haven’t done much at all!”
- “I keep thinking I’m not good enough and never will be!”
- “My mind feels so blurry, and I can’t focus on anything anymore!”
- Even if I get everything done, and im doing well, I don’t feel happy.

Initial Assessment
The therapist and client start with an initial assessment session where they get to know each other. The therapist asks questions to understand the client's presenting concerns, personal history, current life circumstances, and goals for therapy. This helps in establishing a therapeutic alliance and creating a treatment plan tailored to the client's needs.
